Thank you. So much. To everyone who jumped on board to offer crisis accommodation to those displaced by floods via our Donate a Stay campaign.
From Airbnbs and granny flats to holiday lets, motels and more ~ the response we received was nothing short of incredible. And with this generosity, we were able to match over 250 people with temporary accommodation 🙏
Whether two weeks or several months was required, our team worked tirelessly behind the scenes to connect people with places. Simultaneously saddening and uplifting, this was an experience marked by countless stories of loss and grief, but also by so much hope and kindness.
We’d like to give a special thanks to A Perfect Stay, who teamed up with us from the get-go to rally property owners and contribute multiple accommodation options. Likewise, to Elements of Byron, who kindy donated Bayshore Bungalows, and to the new owners of Byron Motor Lodge Motel, who offered up an entire motel for the cause.
We’re extremely grateful for the untold generosity of our Donate a Stay hosts, whose extraordinary goodwill has made an enormous difference to so many in the community.
We stand humbled and proud, and a little teary eyed. But of course, this initiative was just the beginning, and the need is still great…

Accommodation Offers
We’re pleased to say that Airbnb has activated its emergency response programme, in collaboration with the Australian Red Cross, and is inviting hosts to provide free temporary accommodation to those in need.
If you are looking to donate crisis accommodation to those displaced by floods, you can do so via the Airbnb platform here (you do not need to be an existing Airbnb host to get involved).
Accommodation Requests
If you’ve lost your home due to flooding and are looking for temporary accommodation, please visit the NSW Government website here.
The NSW Government is also offering flood recovery rental support payments for those in highly impacted suburbs who are unable to live in their homes due the floods. Visit their website here for more information on eligibility criteria and how to apply.
